There are many different reasons why you may want an edition. You may be self-publishing as an artist or writer. You may already be published and wish to have a limited edition of your next publication. With modern advances in printing it is far easier than ever to create, print, and bind one-of-a-kind books, who’s value and longevity far outreach modern production binding. I collaborate with you to come up with a budget and design that work together.
Most damage to an item comes from sun exposure, moisture, and even insects. A basic archival enclosure is one of the best ways to preserve your most loved books, photographs, and keepsakes. Each box is custom made using quality materials to fit the item or items exactly. There are many options for how to customize your box, from materials to construction. When spending money on restoration it is always wise to also get a clamshell box to prevent further damage in the future.
A family album is meant to last for generations, and though it is easier than ever to purchase one online, many of the materials used are not meant to last. All albums are hand sewn, one-of-a-kind, and made with quality materials. I work with you to make not just an album, but an heirloom.
Re-bindings and custom bindings allow you to pick the leather, paper, and even design you would like for your book. In some cases, where a cover is too degraded to be restored, a replicated new cover is the best long-term solution. Depending on the construction of the book I work with you to pick the appropriate binding structure and materials.
Restoration can encompass many different procedures depending on the condition of the materials, the over-all value of the book, and your budget. I work with you to determine what your options are after completing a full condition report and estimate. Services generally include: cleaning, re-backing, paper repair, leather consolidation, or just an enclosure to protect from further damage.
