Product Description
About the Edition
The handbound version of Peter Galbert’s Chairmaker’s Notebook is a limited edition of 45 books, each numbered and then signed by the author. The binding is a tight joint, quarter leather binding*, with semi-hidden corners, and leather endbands. Both the cover paper and leather are hand printed with a photopolymer plate made from one of Peter’s illustrations. The titles, apart from the one in black, are stamped in matte copper foil. The inside endpapers are digitally printed illustrations from the book. There is also an additional colophon page added to the book that lists all of the materials used, as well as the unique number of the edition you have purchased.
The Prototype
Due to the timing of the printing schedule a picture of the final binding is not available at this time. In the meantime I have photoshopped a prototype with the cover layout to help you envision the final book. Come back in April for close up images of the edition. Or stay tuned to the blog for in process images of the construction.
Ordering Options
You can choose to just order Chairmaker’s Notebook by itself, or choose the book with a protective clamshell box included. There will be further images of the clamshell box in April as well.
To expedite shipping, books will be bound in sets of 15 beginning in March. The first batch will ship in April, the second in May, and the final batch will ship in June. Once you place your order you will receive an email detailing when your book will ship. Pre-ordering your book today guarantees it will ship out within the production schedule listed above.
